The NBA is back to regular season action. For basketball fans, it is a joyous time because one of the best professional sports leagues is back. Many storylines this upcoming season will make it a fun one. These include DeMar DeRozan and his fit with the Spurs, Kawhi Leonard’s fit with the Raptors and how he elevates that team to a new level, Dwyane Wade’s last season before retirement, whether the Warriors can three-peat and reach the Finals five consecutive times like Russell’s Celtics and quite possibly the most intriguing storyline, LeBron James and the new look Lakers trying to bring back Showtime to LA.

Despite many people’s assumption that the Warriors will three-peat this season when they signed four-time all-star center, DeMarcus Cousins, there still are several teams that will take their best shot at delivering a dynasty crumbling blow.

One of the teams that could give the defending champions trouble is Houston, with a renewed contract from Chris Paul and Clint Capela and the ever dangerous James Harden, but losing defensive stalwarts Trevor Ariza and Luc Mbah a Moute will hurt.

Another team could be the Oklahoma City Thunder with Russell Westbrook and Paul George leading the charge to dethrone Westbrook’s ex-teammate, Kevin Durant. The Thunder signed Dennis Schroder to back up Westbrook at the point guard position, but defensive specialist, Andre Roberson will miss some time after having surgery on his knee. This could set back Oklahoma City on the defensive end.

There are many teams who can possibly dethrone the Warriors, but there is one that could be the strongest of the two aforementioned, the Boston Celtics. The Celtics pose the biggest threat to the Warriors’ throne because they possess an elite point guard of their own in Kyrie Irving. Along with Irving, they have all-star Gordon Hayward, young, budding stars in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. They have a solid point guard off the bench in Terry Rozier and also have the gritty and tough, Marcus Smart. But, perhaps above all, the Celtics have one of the best basketball minds at the controls in Brad Stevens, who can strategically make adjustments in games and series.

NBA basketball being back is good news for all of the fun storylines and just for entertainment purposes for people who love and missed watching basketball regularly.
